At the moment I have
1 ponies. I used to have 7 Floyd. New Venture Floyd, Skewbald Shetland with one blue eye. This Gelding is a real character. He is best known for his
ice-cream eating, although liquorish, yoghurt, cream buns, roses or anything else he shouldn't eat will do. After eating sweet snacks he will stick his tongue out about 2cm and then suck all the flavour off his tongue making a slurping sound. This little trick he only started mid 97 and I can't explain why he started doing it, but the look of absolute pleasure on his face must be seen to be believed. As a "Party Pony" he is excellent. Kind disposition and unshakeable calmness are needed to work in the same fair with camels giving rides. Think about it, he's 9.3hh and a camel would have to be at least 30hh and weigh about 20 times as much as he does. Floyd always has a real good look when John (Humpy John, I know about 10 Johns) arrives with his camels but once he remembers them from last time he will walk right past them like they weren't there. Miss Milly. New Venture Miss Milly, Black, fine boned very fancy trot. More a miniature horse than a Shetland. She is my show pony. I've never entered her in a show but I've never needed to, anybody who sees her trotting along in the gig can tell she has style. Loves to show off and has that I'll learn anything attitude. My last car was a real bomb, but it suited the ponies fine I'd taken out the back seat and Milly used to travel in there. The back window was wound up going through Rockhampton, but once we were out to Gracemere I'd wind it down Milly could stick her head out to talk to her many mates along the road home (when she whinnied with the window up it'd nearly deafen me.) and pretend she was galloping along at 60 kh. People used to always take photos of her in the back seat but I always forgot. If you live in Rocky and have a photo of Milly in the car let me know, I'd love a copy. Sharmaine.
As a child's riding pony there is no better. Sharmaine was the main pony when my
ex-wife and I had a riding school, Sharmaine had 3 riders taking lessons on her each week. Now she is one of my Party Ponies and does the job well. The Morning Bulletin which is the newspaper in Rockhampton loves to publish photos of her. So far Sharmaine has had her photo published about 12 times.
. Sharmaine has had a foal since Suzie, Sissy is a beautiful little bay by
Dale. I sold Sharmaine and Sissy and purchased Sissy back 6 months later.
Sharmaine spent last year doing Pony Club and Gymkhanas with Stacey at Balmoral
Pony club. PICS HERE. Suzie. The Hut Suzie Surprise. I don't have any children so Suzie takes the place of a first born child. If ever there was a pony to keep as a pet it would be her.
